Students who have excusable absences and can show documentation at the event or day of to the school office (i.e. a doctor note, dentist note, court note, bereavement) will be exempt from this policy and may attend the event. Questions regarding this information are to be directed to the JMS attendance office.

CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Eighth Grade Activities Guide Commitment: Eighth Grade students are our upper class-men role models on campus and are held accountable for maintaining their citizenship, behavior and effort throughout their 8th grade year. Eligibility to participate in one or all of culminating activities such as, but not limited to the Aloha Picnic, Promotion Dance and Promotion Ceremony are based on a student’s overall performance. Each student begins the year with a positive balance or the total 100 points. Refer to the Eighth Grade Activities Guide Commitment form here for complete details. Points will be deducted for the following actions:

  • 5 points for each “U” in citizenship.

  • 5 points for each day of formal suspension from school.

  • 4 points for each in-house suspension or extended Behavior Support Session.

  • 3 points for each after school or before school Behavior Support Session.

  • 2 points for each School Beautification.

Students retaining 75-100 points will have earned all three main privileges. The school reserves the right to remove additional privileges at the discretion of the teaching staff and administrative team. It is important to know that once points are lost, they cannot be earned back.
